I feel something we all stress so much about is what and who is around us to make us happy. But I have come to realise that you really do not need a lot to make a happy life. To be quite honest, if I only had my dogs, my boyfriend and my close family (I say close because I do not speak to a lot of my family), then I would generally have a happy life. Because it's what I do with these three different people/animals in my life which makes me happy in the long run. 

For instance, yesterday I went to Dobbs Weir with my boyfriend and our puppies. It was an incredible day and I was surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. But all I needed was the puppies and him. But I could have also gone their on my own, with my headphones on and my camera in my hand and also been just as happy.

While you really do not need a lot to make a happy life, you need to figure out what it is that you do need to have that happy life and I feel this is an area which many people struggle with.

So recently I lost a friend and I honestly have no idea how it happened. He just walked away and never came back; the friendship was over. I spent a couple of days quite angry and also quite upset as I thought I needed him because he was a very close friend. But then I've also come to realise that he wasn't one of these people that I need in my life to make me have a happy life; because I was already happy without him. While realising that I didn't need him, I also realised that I did try and I did care and if that was enough for me, then why does any of it matter? I was always a friend and sometimes you can't be any more than that.

So here's to realising that you can be happy with the smallest things and a lot of the time; we don't need what we think we need.
