Good Morning!
I hope you're having a great start to a new week.

As I live my life, so many different things happen; good and bad and the majority of what happens in my life I tend to share on my blog. Of course there are certain aspects which I don't share; the personal bits and bobs which really no one needs to know about. But when it comes to situations such as being a student and the ins and outs of that; I think it's an experience which could help many people. I'm sure these posts can be rather boring for people who are no longer students but I think these "life lessons" I guess we can call them, could help anyone in any different situation.

A comment which has risen since I've been school is "you think you're better than everyone else". And I know, it's the most stupid comment in the world and when people first started saying it, I took it to heart as like I did with everything else and it was a comment which I felt down about the majority of the time. Thinking about why people were saying this comment back in school was to do with the fact that I used to sit there in class, do my work, do my homework and I never had a detention. But why would that make people assume that I think I'm better than everyone else? I'm simply doing what I'm there to do? Learning, working and doing my bloody homework. I never wanted to stay later after school, or spend half an hour of my lunch break in detention; I had things I wanted to do.

This comment carried on into college where I would also go into college, do my work and leave by 11:30 most mornings because I wanted to get home, do something I'd rather be doing, or even helping my mum who's disabled. How is this thinking I'm better than everyone else?

Sadly, even at University studying with people in their 20s-40s, I'm still coming across this comment. "she thinks she's better than everyone else", even when it's still the same situation. I'm there to learn, I'm there to do my uni work so I can pass, and then get a profession at the end of it. I do my work early on, so I can spend my Christmas blogging, or spending time with my mum; or spending my time reading, watching tv (which I never do); and generally, doing things I love to do because when I'm studying, I do not have the time to do anything.

I have been to college and university, for myself, to gain more knowledge, to get a qualification and to get my dream job at the end of it. I don't think that's thinking that I'm better than everyone else, it's simply doing what I dream of doing, and doing it at the speed that I work at, not what everyone else works at.

If it was easy for people to understand that they need to focus on what they're doing and not what everyone else is doing, I wouldn't have had this problem for ten years.  Is it that difficult to understand this concept?

I've come to learn not to give a crap about this comment and the amount of times it comes up, because I'm doing everything I do for me, not for anyone else. And that's something everyone should do. You get out of life what you put into it.

Have you ever been told that you think you're better than everyone else? How did you take that comment?

I'll see you soon
