Brioche Bread

Good Morning!
I hope you are having a lovely day.

Today I am bringing you another baking post, however with a twist! I am sharing bread instead of cake, but it's still sweet so it's good enough for me! I've made bread a few times. Once was in a bread maker and it came out rather small (but I think that was because my bread maker is tiny). I have also hand made bread using Paul Hollywood's bread recipe book and my dad and brother loved it so much, I didn't actually get to try any so I had to remake it. I absolutely loved making this bread, it was easy and it didn't take long to bake in the oven either!

So let's get too it;
You will need;
2 cups warm water
2 1/2 tsp dry yeast
1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
6 cups bread flour
1 tbsp shortening
1 tbsp melted butter (for on top)
splash of Macadamia Nut Oil

Grease two bread pans and preheat your oven to 190 degrees Celsius
Place the water into a bowl and pour the yeast and 1/2tbsp of sugar on top. Leave to sit for 15-20 minutes or until it's bubbly.
Combine the melted butter, sugar and evaporated milk into a large mixing bowl. When your yeast mixture is ready, add this to the large mixing bowl and mix.
In a stand mixer, using a bread hook add 3 cups of flour to your mixture and mix. Then add one cup of flour at a time and mix. Once you have added 5 cups in total, add in 1/2 cup afterwards until the dough is no longer sticking to the sides o the bowl, or when your fingers do not stick to the dough.
Transfer to a bowl which has been greased with Macadamia Nut oil (so the dough doesn't stick).
Cover the bowl with cling film and place by the window and allow to rise for 1-1.5 hours.
The reason I have specified the type of oil is because not only does my mum not like your usual vegetable oil but Macadamia Nut Oil has more health benefits than Coconut Oil. Can you believe it?
They state "Buttery in taste and a fantastic alternative to coconut oil due to its lower saturated fat content and higher monounsaturated fat content."
Having a buttery taste, I thought this would be perfect to use for greasing my bowl because this is a brioche bread, so it needs that sugary, buttery taste too it!

Three benefits of using this oil alternatively to vegetable/coconut or sunflower oil are;
It's an anti-oxidant which helps to store elasticity to our skin.
It has no cholesterol in it what so ever!
It has a ratio of Omega-3 and Omega-6 1:1, unlike any other oil.

I personally know what I'd prefer to use when baking or even cooking!
Once it has risen to the top of the bowl, punch it down and pour onto a clean and floured surface.
Kneed the dough for 2-3 minutes.
Cut the dough into two pieces and roll them out into a rectangular shape and place into your greased bread pans.
Let the dough rise again and when it has reached the top of the loaf pan, place in the oven at 190 degrees Celsius and bake for 25 minutes.
Once you have taken the bread out of the oven, tap the bottom to see if it is hollow or not, if it is then place it on a cooling rack and coat the top with melted butter.

Have you ever made bread? How did it turn out?

This post was in collaboration with Ennoblement, however all opinions were my own.
(they didn't ask me to include it in any recipes)

I'll see you soon
