Work harder than everybody else, University Life.

Good Morning!
I hope you are having a wonderful day.

So I've had this post in my drafts for a few months now as I liked the idea of it, however I weren't sure if I was going to create it as a "tips" post or a rambling chatty post and I've decided to go with the rambling chatty kind of post because these are my favourite as they can be quite personal too!

I have always been a hard worker as I've always believed not everyone has the opportunity to be in Education and so many people take it for granted. However, in my eyes education is a way of always learning something and when you're learning you are constantly growing and becoming more knowledgeable which is always great for a better future. You may possibly disagree with this, but it's my opinion and this is my outlook on Education.

Throughout school and college I was bullied for being the one who kept my head down, completed any homework and the work in class and then left. I enjoyed learning, I enjoyed working and that's the whole point of being in school, college or even University right? To work and to learn? So why would I go in, mess about and miss any opportunities of learning, it just doesn't make sense to me.
In school I was very sensitive to people's comments about how they felt about me when I sat down to learn instead of sitting down to mess about and have a chat. I cared about what my peers thought about me and how they saw me and I shouldn't have. I've come to realise how sitting down and doing my work was actually the best thing I could have possibly done because I'm now at University in my second year with a lot of skills in my pocket because I listened in school and college and I learnt a lot.

Being in University now, I do not have the people bullying me for doing my work as we're all in the same position, paying a lot of money to be in Education and to be honest, it would be ridiculous to pay £7000-£9000 a year to mess about, right? However, I do have some people who give the snide comments of "I bet you've done this already haven't you?" before the lecture has even started. I mean, okay I have already done it because I like to be prepared, but is it necessary to give this comment, no I don't think so.
I will always stand by this quote, "If you want to make something for yourself, work harder than everybody else" and it's completely true. I went through school knowing I wanted to be a psychologist (although this isn't happening now), so I worked hard knowing I would need to go to University. I then went through college knowing I really wanted to be a teacher and this has been my goal for the past three years and it will be until I graduate. I know to make something for myself, I need to work as hard as I possibly can to get there, even if that means working harder than everybody else to get the best marks for myself.

There's no harm in working harder than everybody else, because at the end of the day this is for you, not them.

If you're in school, college or even university I hope this has helped you. Work hard, and do it for you and your future! It's completely worth it!

I'll see you soon
